Hitachi has added more muscle to its lineup of DVD camcorders with two new multiformat models, the Hitachi
DZ-GX20MA 2.1 MP DVD camcorder and the DZ-MV780MA 1.3 MP DVD camcorder. Along with its host of improvements--including a new imaging engine for a 20 percent improvement in noise reduction and 20 percent longer battery life--these two new models feature multiformat recording capability. The DZ-GX20MA and DZ-MV780MA camcorders feature 16:9 widescreen recording in DVD-RAM, DVD-R, and DVD-RW formats.
A new DVD drive has also reduced the product size by 15 percent and a bare DVD load creates a sleeker, more compact design overall. The new Hitachi DVD camcorders are designed to meet different consumer needs and all feature a 50 percent faster start time and improvements in overall image quality.

In addition to the numerous technical enhancements based on the new imaging engine and DVD drive, the
DZ-GX20MA and DZ-MV780MA feature an SD or MMC memory card to make sharing still photos even easier with other electronic devices, such as photo printers, digital print stations and SD-compatible PCs, TVs and DVD recorders. All of the 2005 Hitachi DVD Camcorder models also feature a dedicated photo button for ease of use, as well as a 'ready-when-you-are' record start time of only seven seconds. This is an improvement of more than 50 percent over previous generation products from Hitachi, enabling consumers to always be ready to record.
Hitachi was the first to manufacture a DVD camcorder, anticipating the market trends and the needs of our customers. We continue that dedication to users by constantly improving our products based on their feedback and the latest engineering innovations. I'd originally gotten a Sony DV Camcorder but found that it had to have ONLY Sony parts such as batteries, tapes and other accessories at a high price and would not connect directly to my computer. Examined all the other camcorders and settled on this Hitachi. It is terrific. It does everything I wanted very easily. Using the "low light" setting, I was able to get an excellent video with normal room light and the lit Christmas tree. It is necessary to be careful about the mini DVDs you use, but they are easily found and at a very reasonable price. I wanted a DVD recorder as I was not happy with the results from my analogue tape camera. This Hitachi more than fills the bill. It is easy to use, has great accessories included in the box, even a first DVD disk. The manual covers everything with easy to understand pictures and text. I'm completely sold on the Hitachi.
