The blank tape and the spare battery are definite a must have. The case is compact, well made, and perfectly fits the camcorder. The compact size of the case is its only shortcoming. If you purchase all the accessories, i.e. a wall charger, a microphone, light--you'll have to either cram them in or make trade-offs what to and what not to carry.
