Works with Nikon D700, D300, D300S, D200, D3S, D3, D2H, D2Hs, D2x, D1, D1H, D1x, F100, F6, F5, F90X and F90
Two-stage release button - halfway pressing for auto focus and complete pressing for shutter release
Button locking for bulb exposure by pressing completely and sliding forward - easy for long exposure and continuous shooting
Support synchro-cable to control 2 cameras simultaneously
100% compatible with NIKON MC-30
Solid quality with a small price compared to NIKON MC-30. It is handy for reducing camera shake on super telephoto shots, macro-photography, and bulb exposures. Pressing the shutter button halfway enables auto-focusing; pressing the shutter button all the way down releases the shutter. Lock the button for long exposures or continuous shooting. Fully compatible to: Nikon D700, D300, D300S, D200, D3, D2H, D2Hs, D2x, D1, D1H, D1x, F100, F6, F5, F90X and F90
Why pay over $100 or even $70 for a simple shutter release? If you need distance from your camera, wireless capabilities, or still be able to set functions on the camera from a distance, then get a more expensive remote; it will be worth it. But if you are looking for a simple corded shutter release, save your money and get this one. Sure, it doesn't feel as sturdy as the more expensive ones; but how sturdy does a simple button have to be to make a shutter release? This one is just as good quality as the Nikon simple shutter release, but after using it several times I think it is probably better than Nikon's (I'm not a gentle person when it comes to remotes). It has worked perfect on my D300 in both my studio and travels, and fits comfortably in my hand. I use it for night shots (lots of night shots) and product studio long exposures. As an example, I used this remote to make most of the photos used on CompassRoseGeocoin.com. I could not have any camera shake when taking those photos. Update: I ended up losing the first one of these I purchased after using it for several hundred photos (It was much sturdier than I thought). I wasn't too upset since the cost was so low, but I would have been livid if I were to lose one of those more expensive remotes. After finding out of the loss, I did more research to see if there are any new options for remotes; but this remote still seems to be the best value on the market today. Therefore I was happy to buy a second one.
