Product Description
The Microtek ArtixScan M1 Dual Media Scanner boasts exceptional electronic design, optical design, and mechanical design, delivering outstanding technical performance to photographers and graphic designers who demand high quality. The Artixscan M1 is highlighted by its E.D.I.T. (Emulsion Direct Imaging Technology ) technology. As with drum scanning, E.D.I.T. enables a scanner’s CCD lens to read directly from the emulsion side of the film without any glass between the lens and the object being scanned. This “glassless scanning” eliminates any possible distortion and the so-called Newton Rings otherwise caused by the interfering pane of glass. By adopting E.D.I.T., the CCD sensor is able to capture the most realistic image possible with the least distortion, render the full dynamic range from the image, and provide optimal results with sharp details. Features: - E.D.I.T. architecture with separate scan beds for reflective and transparency scanning
- 4800-dpi optical resolution
- 48-bits per pixel (16-bits per channel)
- Auto-focus technology for optimum sharpness
- New film holders with tension technology for 35mm slides, 35mm film, 6-cm film, and 4x5”
- Hi-Speed USB 2.0 interface
- Bundled software package includes SilverFast SE Plus from LaserSoft Imaging and Microtek ScanWizard Pro
- Kodak IT8 calibration targets (transparency & reflective print)
- 8.5 x 14" reflective scanning area
- 8 x 10" transparency scanning with E.D.I.T.
- Software compatible with Mac OS 10.3 to 10.4.11 and Windows 2000/XP/Vista
Items included: - Microtek ArtixScan M1 Dual Media Scanner
- SnapTrans film holders for 35mm slides, 35mm filmstrips, 6c
Microtek's M1 is the worst scanner I've used. The 1st one I bought worked great for the 1st set of slides I did. Then, a couple months later, the 2nd set didn't scan the colors correctly by a long shot.
