Tiny receiver with power switch and auto power save, including 2 diagnostic LEDs: red for power on/off, and bi-color reflects transmitter action. Batteries included, with life of about 20,000 actions; transmitter battery: 23A (12V Alkaline); receiver battery: CR-2 (3V lithium). This model works with CANON REBEL EOS 450D, 400D, 350D, 300D, 300, 300V, 50E, 50, 33, and 30 cameras. Replacement batteries available, search for "Wireless Shutter Release Replacement Battery Kit." It was cheap enough I thought I could experiment. The unit is well made and works almost as well as I could wish. Pros: it works fine (I haven't tried to see how far it actually does work). Cons: there is a two-stage shutter button, but no tactile feel for it. A green LED comes on when button is 1/2 way down, and red LED when all the way down. Which means you have to take your eye off the subject if you use the 1/2 setting to refocus, re-establish exposure, etc. Uses CR2 battery. Definitely better than cable release. Chinese manufacture.
