I got this to start experimenting with strobist effect. I didn't want to spend a lot of money right off the bat. (using this on a Canon T2i with a 430EXII Speedlite. When I first got the Aperture Trigmaster kit, it didn't work right... wasn't firing everytime. I had to plug the cord into the camera from the transceiver, which kind of defeated the whole wireless part of triggering the flash. It just did not work. I was doing all this in manual camera mode. However, after playing with the settings a little bit, I realized that everything worked fine in full auto mode. So I went back into manual mode. I started switching settings and realized that if the Flash Compensation setting is set to zero it wouldn't trigger the wireless flash right. So, if you switch the Flash Compensation to anything but zero then everything works fine. Since then I haven't had a problem. (UPDATE) The flash compensation does not change anything. I had the transceiver turned around. you just have to attach the transceiver to the hot shoe with the trigger button facing the back of the camera. Also, it will not work if you are in "Live View" mode. Thought I would share this because I saw that some other people were returning theirs when they got them because it wouldn't work in manual mode. I was even about to return mine before figuring out the Flash Compensation setting. Overall... for the price they are pretty good to start out on.
