When my floor model Nikon Coolpix S550 came without its battery, the store ordered a new Lenmar battery to replace the Nikon one. I followed instructions, which was to power it up before use, run it down, and keep using it like that. It's on its third use alternating with the genuine Nikon battery I bought on Amazon. It has lasted for an all-day trip to Legoland (will check how many photographs were taken that day)--but even so, I'll probably stick with a genuine Nikon battery for my third. Looking at the Legoland file, I got at least 250 pictures out of the battery before it needed to be replaced with my second battery.
