The previous reviewers don't understand what the purpose of this strap is. It is for little $1-200 digital cameras that are convenient to travel with, not clunky $400 SLRs. Once the strap is attached to the camera, you attach the carabiner clip to the strap of your shoulder bag, neck lanyard (at a theme park or event), or jacket buttonhole. That way, you can use the camera at will without detaching the clip again. I have also used this strap for the flash drives my kids need to bring to school. Once attached to their binder or backpack, they can use the flash drive without detaching it, thus minimizing their chances of forgetting or misplacing it.
