Wanted a DSLR but not the heavy body and lenses. Extensive experience with film SLRs and medium format cameras through the years, mostly a Nikon fan but this Olympus is quite impressive. After extensive research, over 100 pages of data, I chose the Olympus PEN E-PL3. This camera is nice and solid, feels good in the hand. It has all the features I was looking for in a full-size DSLR but without the bulk and weight. Added the 17mm lens creating a very nice full-featured camera which fits in my coat pocket. Impressive performance, great pictures. Will add the electronic viewfinder soon.Update, December 13, 2011: Added the electronic viewfinder, wonderful accessory...a must have if you purchase this camera. Overall very happy with purchase of camera, lens, and viewfinder. Worth every penny and takes great pictures. Still 5 stars.Update, January 2, 2012: Was out taking photos the other day, bright sunlight and blue skies. Absolutely great day to be out enjoying the sun, was stunned with the clarity and color of the photos. The Face Detection feature means well focused, sharp portraits. I've owned some very good cameras (Nikon, Minolta, and Hasselblad), for the size, weight, and quality build the Olympus PEN E-PL3 is a very good camera too.
