The plug pops into the USB jack of the camera, and controls the shutter (and video recording). The button is fairly easy to press, though could be a tad larger. The lock is there, though since the button is flush, I don't see myself using it. The cable is fairly flexible though my only minor gripe is that the cord could be a little longer.
