One should still keep in consideration that the clips/buttons will leave no clearance for your lens and may scratch/damage the glass. If you're using this over a filter, then you should be fine, but I would still not recommend this lens cap.ORIGINAL REVIEW: The cap in the picture shows a "cavity" on the back side. This is similar to the original canon lens cap design, such that the clips are held together by a circular rubber-band that allows a gap between the cap and lens itself. The actual lens cap does not have such a design. The clips on the actual cap depress towards the center, leaving no cavity in the back side.
