I bought it for use with a Hero 2 camera and it works fine and has very good stereo seperation. I also bought a six foot extension cable so I can mount the mic anywhere nearby when necessary since the Hero doesn't have an attachment rail. Besides the T-slot mount for a camera hot shoe track, there's a 1/4-20 female threaded hole on the bottom for attachment to a standard tripod. When I first tried it out I found that there's a clear plastic sleeve around the included battery and nothing is going to happen until it's removed. A switch on the mic has Off, 90º and 120º settings. Also included is a soft black draw-string bag for storage. Edit 1-2-12 The microphone is not suitable for use with a Hero2 camera. It's ok at low levels, but at higher sound levels the audio starts cutting out and gives really terrible results. I don't know if it's the microphone or the automatic gain control in the camera, but used in an open sports car it's unacceptable.
